The one where you want nothing. For 3 to 6. Every heart you take is a point against you, the queen of spades is thirteen — and if you take the lot, everyone else eats them.
- One pack, no jokers. Ace high, no trump. With three, the 2♦ comes out so it deals evenly (five: 2♦ 2♣; six: 2♦ 2♣ 3♦ 3♣).
- Everyone gets the same number of cards — 17 with three, 13 with four.
- Before each hand, pick three cards and pass them. They go to your left the first hand, to your right the next, across (four or six of you) the one after, then a hand with no pass — and round again.
- Nobody sees what you chose until the cards move — they move when everyone has picked.
- Whoever holds the lowest club (the 2♣, when it's in) leads it to open.
- Follow suit if you can. If you can't, play anything — that's how the hearts and the queen get dumped.
- On the first trick you may not dump a heart or the queen (unless that's all you hold).
- You may not lead a heart until one has been played on a trick — hearts are broken. The queen of spades may be led any time.
- The highest card of the suit led takes the trick and leads the next.
1for every heart you took.
13for the queen of spades.
0if you shot the moon — took every heart and the queen. Everyone else scores 26 instead.
The game ends at the end of the hand in which someone reaches 100. Lowest total wins and takes the crown.
On the felt: in the pass, tap three cards then Pass; the strip says who's still choosing. In play the trick sits in the middle; a card you can't play sits dim and the strip keeps every seat's points this hand and their total. If someone leaves mid-hand the game ends there and the scores stand.
