The family's rummy, for 2 to 6. Get your cards down before anyone else, because whatever you're still holding comes off your 100. Hit 0 and you're out — play round after round until one of you is left standing.
- Two packs with their four jokers. Ten cards each.
- The next card is turned up to start the pile; the rest is the stock, face down. The deal moves one seat left each round.
- Draw first, just like our plain rummy: the top of the stock, or the top card of the pile. (Not the card you just took back onto the pile.)
- To get started you have to put down three cards or more — a run like 6-7-8 of clubs, or a set like three 9s. A set is three or four of a rank; with two packs, two of the very same card is fine.
- You can't add to another person's cards until you've put some down yourself. Once you're started, add single cards to anything on the table — yours or anyone's.
- Then discard one card onto the pile. That's your go.
- A joker stands in for any card — in a set, in the gap of a run, or on the end of one. Once it's down it stays where it is (no swapping a real card in to take it).
- A set or run needs at least one real card. One real card and jokers counts as a set.
- Aces are high: Q-K-A is a run, A-2-3 isn't.
Down to your last card? You have to say carte, or you pick up 3. On your phone, the go that would leave you one card lights a Say Carte! button — tap it before you discard. Forget, and everyone else gets a Catch! button until the next person's go is played. The first to tap it makes you pick up three. No timers — just be quicker than the others. At a new table you only say it once a hand: after that you're just drawing and deciding.
- When someone goes out — clears every card, putting the last one down or discarding it.
- If the stock runs out, the pile is turned over once to make a new one. If it runs out again, the round ends where it stands.
100Everyone starts on 100.
−The cards held in your hand count against you: an ace 15, a picture card 10, a joker 25, the rest their number. The cards you put down don't count either way.
Get to 0 or below and you're out of the game — you can stay and watch. Rounds carry on until all bar one have gone out. The last one standing wins.
On the felt: the strip at the top counts everyone down from 100 and says who's out. On your go, tap the stock or the top of the pile, tap cards then Put down, tap one card then a glowing set or run to add it, and Discard ends the go. Scores shows every round.
